Well, I know it’s not Friday, but with the focus on the hurricane threatening the coast of Flordia, right where my home town of Vero Beach is, I’ve veered off the path a bit.
Last Friday on my blog I posted a story, Nothing Short of A Miracle. As I promised in the closing, I would give part two to the story this week. As you know, I usually write off the prompt word given on, FiveMinuteFriday I was amazed at this weeks prompt — BACK. My story last week was about my husband, Jon’s BACK.
So, as we continue on, I promised that I would share how Jon prayed and just what the Lord said to him.
When the doctor examined Jon, he told him the spot on his back was a cyst and it needed to be removed surgically. Two months prior to that, I had a spot on my upper back that was cancer and the same doctor did the surgery to remove it.
Jon was relieved when the doctor said his was NOT cancer and simply accepted that he would have to have surgery.
A few weeks later at his men’s Bible Study, they were discussing the promises of God vs. the promises of man. God will always keep His, but sadly man sometimes falls short and we end up disappointing each other.
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
2Corinthians 1:20

The next morning in Jon’s prayer time, the Lord spoke to his heart and asked Him, “Jon, why haven’t you asked me to heal the cyst?”
Then the Lord continued on –He said, “I want to and will remove it for you. But, it’s not for you that I am doing this. I am doing it for the doctor. I want to show Him My Glory!”

Wow~ and as you read the previous blog post last week, that is just what happened. When we went in for the surgery that Thursday morning, the cyst completely disappeared! It WAS gone!
There is nothing too difficult for God. So, as I write this today, on the eve of the possible Cat 4/5 hurricane s nearing the coast of Flordia, let us stand in agreement that God can do all things — Just as He removed that cyst from Jon’s back, that He can also turn this storm away from the coast today!
What are you believing for? What are you asking God to do that seems beyond your ability? Remember the scripture above, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.”
I pray that in Him, His promises are true to you today!”
Thanks for stopping by and if you’re in the path of hurricane Dorian, let us all pray and believe together that Dorian will stay away from the coast and head back out to sea! Be safe and see you next week!

HI Del, thank you for sharing this story! I’m so touched. Praise the Lord. I appreciate how God spoke to your husband – asking him why he hadn’t asked God to heal him. Then God said he was doing it for the doctor! Wow! Chill bumps! So thankful for you guys. Please give an update on your home and the hurricane when you can.
Oh, and your blog is beautiful! The images are very striking!

Thank you so much… and yes, God is so good. I still can remember walking out of the office in awe.. like what do we do next? And the hurricane, Praise God, he spared the coast of Florida. Only winds the same as a tropical storm. No damage and God gets all the glory for answering so many prayers! God bless you!
