Seeds of Strength Hope & Encouragement

Are you WILLING to go the extra mile for Jesus? Today our word for FiveMinute Friday is WILLING… Let’s see where that word will take us!

A few years ago I was asked to be a co-chair for a fundraiser in our community. The ministry was called The Source. It was a local ministry to help the homeless in our area.

Oh, I was excited and yes proud that I’d be heading up the silent auction and working right beside Carol who had chaired it in years past.

Little did I know how God was about to teach me one of the most powerful lessons in my life. Even today it rings bells when need be.

As I walked into Carol’s house for the first time I stood in awe. There she stood, iron in hand, ironing tissue paper. Yes, you heard me right, tissue paper! “Careful not to burn it,” she said as she handed me the cool iron. “Just go slow and you’ll be okay.”

Her table was full heaps and heaps of tissue paper with every color you could imagine. And, to top it off, her living room/dining room was wall to wall with boxes and boxes stacked a mile high. Here I was with about seven or eight items for the silent auction and I thought I had conquered the world.

“Truly I tell youwhatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” Matthew 25:15

She and her husband Wayne had gone all out for Jesus. Wayne continued to bring in more and more heaps of items from his car to be tagged, counted and lined up for the auction. The more he brought in, the more I pondered, would I, would I be willing to give my time, my entire day to Jesus?

They were willing to give of their time. They were WILLING to give of their day, their week. They were WILLING to give their all for the Source. Yes, the Source our ministry in Vero Beach, but for the SOURCE OF ALL SOURCES — JESUS.

Do you have any stories of giving your all for Jesus? What happened to you? How did God change your thinking or enabled you to help another? Why not share your story today!

Hey, remember, our testimony might be the only Jesus someone else might hear 🙂

Thanks for stopping by. Come back to visit again! Blessings for a great weekend!… And, if you’d like to receive more of these in your mailbox, just click the box to the right a pass me your email… it’s that easy!
