Seeds of Strength Hope & Encouragement

Well, here we are. It’s the beginning of another New Year. We can all look back on the year 2018 and remember the good and the bad. Today, if you’re one who is looking back and remembering all of your regrets — shoulda, coulda woulda–STOP.

Stop right there and don’t allow yourself to ruin one more second of your life.  Proverbs 16:24 says, “Gracious words are honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”  I don’t know about you, but I’ll take honey any day over something sour and bitter.

“Gracious words are honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

You see, the year is just beginning. I can recall someone recently sharing with a child a very important word. He told her that she had a choice in what she would choose to do. “You have the choice to be positive or negative. You have the choice,” he said, “to choose how you will allow a situation to affect you.”

His words have continued to stew in my mind for the last few weeks. But you know what, he’s right.

It’s the same with our words. Our words are weapons and again they can be sweet like honey to heal the soul

or they can be bitter like vinegar and destroy and ferment everything and everyone around us.

So, why not choose to remember the good of the past year? Why not choose to go into the New Year, 2019.  expecting the good things of God for you.  Expect God’s best. He is your heavenly Father and what father does not want the best for his children.? I love in the book of Matthew where Jesus is sharing with us Who God really is and how He desires to give us his best. He compares Him to an earthly father and how he wants to give good gifts to his children, but how much more God wants to give to us when we ask.

(“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!) Matthew 7 7-11

So, it’s day one. January 1st, the slate is clean.

Remember you have a choice in how you live out every day. Let your words as Proverbs says, be like honey. Enjoy the sweetness of the honeycomb and all it has to offer. Allow this to be your best year yet. Stay positive and don’t allow the enemy to rob you of even one day for the very best of what God has in store for you.

In closing, I’d like to wish you a Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Remember, head into this new year on a positive note. Allow your Heavenly Father bless you in 2019 in ways like you never imagined possible!

Blessings you,

Thanks for stopping by …

  2. Dear Del, thank you for your inspiring words. I was getting caught in regrets today over what happened yesterday and in days past. Your words lifted my spirits-especially these: “Allow this to be your best year yet. Stay positive and don’t allow the enemy to rob you of even one day for the very best of what God has in store for you.”
