Seeds of Strength Hope & Encouragement

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Did you know this is the number one scripture searched for online? In addition, when pastors talk about salvation and explain the Gospel message, this is the scripture often quoted.

All through scripture, we hear about God’s love. I remember my very first Easter as a new believer. The Lord gave me a poem titled His Word is A Love Story. And it is. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals His love for us.

One day as I was reading this scripture, I had a thought. For God so loved the world, that He gave us His Son, His only Son … I paused …but how much the Son also loved, that He was obedient even to death, the death upon a cross!

This thought took me to a deeper level about this love. Yes, the love of the Father, but to the depth of the love of Jesus, His Son. When He came to this earth, He knew what His journey would endure. He knew He would journey on this earth in a human form to live and mingle amongst others who came to know and love Him and then die for all mankind.

But He also did it in obedience to the Father. “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. If you obey My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commands and remain in His love.” (John 15: 9-10)

Oh, such love. Can we ever comprehend its depths? Such deep compassion for each one of us. No matter who, no matter what we have done, Jesus took the penalty of our sin upon himself and went to the cross of Calvary willingly for you and for me. No words, just love!

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

As this is the onset of Easter Week, Passion week, as the liturgical church calls it, let us take the time to meditate on this thought — On the unconditional love of Jesus, what He did, and the price He paid. Think about the immeasurable love He has for you and me, no matter the cost.

A LOVE STORY

My Word is a love story intended today.
To fill you with hope as you tread day by day.

My Word is a love story inspired to be.
A light in the darkness to help you see.

To see how I love – The depts how I care.
That no matter the storm, I’ll always be there.

When you’re at your weakest, I’ll carry you through.
Whatever the need, I’ll be there for you.

So, open your heart and let My love in.
And know that my death has bore all your sin.

Thank you, and have a great week. And, if you’d like to read more posts like this, drop me a line along with your email — I’d love to add you to my list! And… if you have a comment, it always inspires others.. Please leave your comments below!
