Happy New Year! It’s that time again to pick your One Word for the year. Have you heard about “One Word?
Three years ago, I heard about choosing one word to focus on every day and all year long. I welcomed the challenge and found it interesting and rewarding. All you do is pray and ask God to give you one word to help lead, guide and shape you throughout the entire year.

It keeps you focused on what God has for you. My first year, my word was “Pursue.” For the entire year, I continued to pursue everything I was involved in.
The devotional book, Chicken Soup for The Soul was accepting stories until December 31st. I was determined to submit a story. With my word pursue, it inspired me to submit one even if I hit the send button at midnight.
Last year, my word was “Rejoice.“Many wonderful things happened. The most exciting was the wedding of my son, Brian and his beautiful wife, and my new daughter-in-law, Jen. God allowed many other milestones to keep me rejoicing all year long.

This year my word is “Content.” I’ve persued, I’ve rejoiced, now it’s time to be content.
What about you? It’s not too late to take the challenge and ask God for your One Word. Pray and ask God what word He has for you then take it and allow it to enhance everything you do all year long.
Feel free to post your word below and share it with others. And, if you’ve picked a word, in the past, why not share and encourage others to join in the fun; share your stories below!
Thanks for stopping by and I pray your New Year is off to a great start. May the Lord bless and keep you in all you do!
