Pen 4 The Lord

Seeds of Strength Hope & Encouragement

Hello, and welcome to another Five Minute Friday. This week our prompt word is COST. Remember, if you would like to join the Five Minute Friday community, we’re always open to new writers. Just click on the link, http://www.FiveMinuteFriday.com, think about the prompt word, write for five minutes, then share!

So, this time of the year, what’s the “Hot” word that sizzles about? COST!

What’s the COST of this? What’s the COST for that? Black Friday is right around the corner and Cyber Monday emails are being typed as we speak.

So what is the COST to spend on someone for Christmas? On mom, on dad, kids, family, and friends? How do we calculate what to spend and what will bring a smile to their face?

If we go back two-thousand years plus, I guess we have to remember first of all what Christmas is really about. The little child who was born and why He came into the world.

Even before He came, there was a price on His head. He came to give each one of us the gift of salvation. The gift of eternal life in Heaven.

Oh, but what was the cost? Could we ever put a dollar amount on it? I can’t; what about you?

How can we put a cost on one who gave their life for you, for me? One who was beaten, spat upon, and nailed to a cross? One who took the sins of the entire world upon Himself that we could be free?

I don’t know about you, but there’s no price I can even begin to put on that. Only to look to the upcoming week, the week of Thanksgiving, and get on our knees and give thanks to the Lord Jesus for all that He has done.

Although you see Christmas decorations and Black Friday adds everywhere, don’t forget the blackest Friday of them all.

It was The Black Friday where Jesus paid the price for the sins of the entire world.

So, let us STOP. Let us count the COST and …

“Give Thanks to the Lord for He is good; His mercy endures forever” Psalm 107:1

Wanna share? What do you have to be thankful for today? Why not take a minute and share. You never know who might need your word of encouragement!

Thanks for stopping by. If you’d like to receive more posts like this, click on the box on the right, pop in your e-mail address and then enjoy!

“Even before He came, there was a price on His head.” The costliest gift of all, given freely to all. Thanks for this post! Blessings on your week!
