Here we are again. Time for another Five Minute Friday. This is where we are given a one-word prompt and we set out clocks and write for five minutes flat and then send it off to you.
And if you’d like to participate, jump right in. Check it out on www.FiveMinuteFriday.com and give it a try.
Our word this week is MEASURE. Soon as I heard the word I thought, “Okay Lord, what can I write about with that word?”
Gently I could hear Him speak to my spirit, “How about asking them, how do they measure My Love?”
Wow! Great idea! So with that — how do you measure God’s love?
As I write this, I am flying off to an Aglow Conference in Birmingham Alabama. The Lord reminded me about a flight I was on many years ago. I was sitting next to this beautiful woman of God. Within our two hour flight, we both shared our testimonies of how we came to the Lord.
“One day.” she said, “while traveling down the road, I was surfing channels on the radio when I heard someone talking about the unconditional love of God.”
She shared with me that she was so overtaken by what she heard, that she had to pull over to the side of the road as tears began to flow. Unconditional. That word rang loud and clear since she never had a father who loved her that way.
So for her, the word was unconditional. What about you? How would you measure God’s love for you?
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
That scripture reveals volumes about the Love of God to me. Since we were all born into sin, He loves each of us unconditionally no matter who we are or what we’ve done. And the good news is that through His mercy and grace, He forgives our sins as far as the east is to the west; All we need to do is ask.
So that’s my take on how I measure His love. It is higher, deeper, wider and greater than any love we can ever imagine. It says that He forgives our sins as far as the east is to the west.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12
When we understand that, How can we not love Him back for all He has done for us.
What about you. Drop me a note and share with others. How do you MEASURE the Love of God?
God Bless and thanks for stopping by.
