What do you have
to be thankful for today?
Would it be just one word
or a multitude to say?
Would it be for you children
your husband, your wife?
Would it be for the blessings,
or the grief and the strife?
Would it when God answered
with a suddenly — A yes?
Or would it be in the midst
when He blessed your mess?
Oh whatever it is
time to slip to your knees.
To give God the thanks
when you quietly said, “Please.”
Oh give Him the thanks,
the honor that’s due.
On this Thanksgiving Day
all He’s done for you!
