Well here we are for another Five Minute Friday The Word is SURRENDER.
This couldn’t be a more perfect word for the day, the week, the month and the new year in everything I am walking through.
In this New Year of new beginnings, the Lord has asked me to surrender many things to Him. One is my ministry, Aglow where I was President of our local chapter for the past five years. Then as I also sit on our local Area Board for our Aglow, another decision needed to be made. This time I heard the Lord speak to my heart, “Del, if you surrender your will to Me, I will show you great and mighty things…”
Again, I surrendered that decision to Him, and finally, when I did, I had the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Then, this week, I went to the dentist and had a mishap; the dentist accidental cut my tongue, Ouch!!! And his words still ring in my ear. “No talking today. I want you to try and stay silent for the next day or so and not to use your tongue, double Ouch this time!! Oh, and I forgot, “Only liquids till it heals.”
So you say, surrender. Yes, this month has been a time of surrender, but only when we surrender our mind, our will and our emotions, and in my case, my tongue also, unto Him, can He do that perfect work in us that He longs so desperately to do! Amen… STOP!
Enjoyed examining this, very good stuff, appreciate it.

So sorry about the cut tongue! That’s painful.
Beautifully written description of the serenity that comes with surrender. Than you for this.

Ouch! I can’t imagine dealing with a cut tongue and bearing the penalty for the dentist’s mistake by staying silent. I pray you heal quickly and well!
“…but only when we surrender our mind, our will and our emotions, and in my case, my tongue also, unto Him, can He do that perfect work in us that He longs so desperately to do!” This is the key. So good!
I’m in the #40 spot. Blessings as you silently wait on the Lord. 🙂

Surrender is not easy, but it does allow God to work in us. It’s comforting to remember that he has better plans for us than we do for ourselves. Visiting from FMF.

First, let me say, I feel your pain about the dentist and liquids. I had an implant put in last month and couldn’t eat for days. So not fun. But now to the real comment: thank you for sharing! I love that whisper: if you surrender, I’ll show you great and might things. Oh, yes!
