Who Is Del?

 

I believe everything begins with our childhood.

 

What about you?  Is there a time … or a season…. or a place, that you remember so vivid about your childhood that you believe has played a major part in who you are today?

For me, it was the month of September. The day that mom would take us out to shop for school supplies. Just getting home and the smell of opening that brand new box of crayons. I still remember lining them up according to color and how my heart was crushed if one of them would somehow break.

                                 

Walking into an office supply store for me, was like other kids walking into a candy store. And now, my Grand kids are all following in the same path. They don’t say, “Grandma, let’s go to the Toy Store…”No, it’s, “Grandma, let’s go to the Office Supply!”

How we love to spend hours roaming up and down the aisles checking out all the new items to sharpen our mighty pen.

I love what the Word of God, says,

“For You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13-14

… and that He did. Just as he knows you, He knew that someday, six decades  later, maybe after a few wrong turns here and there, finally I’d be on the road to my destiny and joyfully becoming a Pen -4-The Lord!
